Actress. She is best remembered for her role as 'Frau Sivane' in the silent film, "Afgrunden" (1910, AKA "The Woman Always Pays" and "The Abyss"). Born Hulda Anna Marie Dagmar Didrichsen in Copenhagen, Denmark, on February 2, 1872, the daughter of confectioner Axel Peter Christian Didrichsen, she began her career in theater at the age of 18. In 1896, she appeared at the Dagmarteatret Theater in Copenhagen, Denmark, playing several roles of young girls. She then toured the different provinces, and over the next few years, she went onto appear in different roles at the Casino Theater in Copenhagen, Denmark, The New Theater (or the Det Ny Teater) in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Odense Theater in Odense, Denmark, and the Aarhus Theater in Aarhus, Denmark. At the Odense Theater in Odense, Denmark, she appeared in the role of 'Gertrud' in "Milestones," and in the role of 'Leonora' in the stage production of the play, "Henrik and Pernille." She then appeared in the silent film, "Afgrunden" (1910, AKA "The Woman Always Pays" and "The Abyss"), which was produced by Hjalmar Davidsen and directed by Urban Gad. She then appeared for three years (1910 to 1913) at the Aarhus Theater in Aarhus, Denmark, playing the roles of 'Madam Oles' in "I Rungsted Kro" and 'Bodil Faster' in "The Man At Højriis." Her other stage roles included, 'Valborg' in "Axel And Valborg," 'Ragnhild' in "Svend Dyrings Hus," and as 'Kirstine' in "Dancing At Koldinghus." She continued appearing in the theater productions mainly with the Odense Old Theater in Odense, Denmark, and the Betty Nansen Theater in Frederiksberg, Denmark, for the next 15 years. In 1947, she appeared in one final film, "Swedenhielm Family" ( AKA "The Family Of Swedenhielm") playing the role of 'Påklæderske.' After her time in film and the theater, she did some radio work and toured. She passed away in her native Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 11, 1961, at the age of 89, and she was buried in the Søndermark Kirkegård in Copenhagen, Denmark, where several other famous Danish personalities are also laid to rest.
