A two year old boy of Nelson McCurdy, of Wanatah, died at Wheeler last Sunday evening. Mrs. McCurdy took her three children on Saturday evening to Wheeler to visit her uncle Mr. H. Loomis. Sunday the little boy was taken sick with cholera infantum and died the same evening. The body was brought to Valparaiso Monday evening and buried in the old city cemetery. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church, Rev. G. M. Boyd officiating.

No tombstone is known to exist to mark the burial location of boy McCurdy in Valparaiso's Old City Cemetery. Alternatively, McCurdy's tombstone may have been removed or is hidden under turf.
