Chico Record (Chico, California) 06 Aug 1936, Thursday Page 3: Grover, Civil War Vet, Dies. Frederick Grover, 89, who fought with the Union Army in the Civil War, died at 9 o'clock last night at the home of Mrs. Lavina Crabbe, 924 Chestnut Street.
Mr. Grover was born at Boston, Mass., December 16, 1856 [differs from VA records], and had been a resident of Chico for the last 20 years.
He was a member of Halleck Post No. 19, G.A.R. There are no known immediate relatives. Funeral services are pending at the Westfall Funeral Home.
