Ellis A. Steinhauser, 91, of Altair, Texas, passed away on November 21, 2021 in Altair, Texas.

He was born on November 21, 1930 to Edwin Steinhauser and Mary (Schneider) Steinhauser in Columbus, Texas. On March 10, 1951 he married Dessie Bolten.

Ellis worked as a Boilermaker for many years.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring and also attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus. He was a SPJST member for fifty years and also belonged to the Boiler Maker Union for sixty years.

Ellis loved his family and was always wanting to know who was having the next grandbaby or great grandbaby because he felt life was empty without little ones. He loved being around young people because he felt they keep you young. Ellis never met a stranger and he loved to travel. He loved funny cards and party themes and dressing up in costumes; Halloween, German, 70's just to mention a few. Ellis loved his birthday time and always loved presents and giving his family all kinds of ideas for what to get. He especially liked being in competition with Bobbie raising the biggest pumpkin, tomatoes, potatoes and onions to name a few.

Ellis is survived by his wife of seventy years, Dessie Steinhauser; daughters and sons-in-law Crystal and Brad Hajdik, Tamy and Billy Ordner, Lore Baker and Bill Trahan, Renee and Terry Walsh, Deborah and Rick Yancey; grandchildren and spouses/significant others Dawnielle and BJ Shrader, Jacob Walsh and Amanda, Brittney and Eli Merz, Adam Walsh, Carlyle and Jacki Ordner, Shawn and Kaley Jackson, Eric and Cristy Ordner, Colin Ordner and Claira, Alex Woolery Price and Mike, Ethan and Chrissy Ordner, Remington and Becca Hajdik, Sidney Hajdik; great grandchildren Annabelle, Heidi and Lila Shrader, Elie and Dane Merz, Avery, Addison, Ashlyn and Ardyn Ordner, Layla, Scarlett, Skylar and Kennedy Ordner, and Makayla Woolery Price.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mary Steinhauser; sisters Clara Klimple, Myrtle Knipple, Leona Drymalla and Hazel Steinhauser; brothers Henry Steinhauser, Frank Steinhauser, Harry Steinhauser and George Steinhauser; nieces Theresa and Martha; nephews Nathan, Richard, John and Dewayne.
