Allen was the son of Rufus McCue and his wife Gertrude Porter. Allen married Patricia Reid on May 6, 1944 at the Ruffner Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charleston, West Virginia. Allen and Patricia had two children. He was a chemical engineer for F.M.C. Corp. in Philadelphia, Pa., until his retirement. Allen's wife is also buried here at the Memorial Garden.
