Irene C. Anderlik, age 87, of Riceville, Iowa, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021, with rosary recited at 1:30 p.m. at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 407 Woodland Ave., Riceville, Iowa and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Irene Cecelia Richardson was born March 26, 1934, to Charles and Cecelia (O'Brien) Richardson. She graduated with the class of 1953 from Riceville High School.
On June 6, 1953, Irene was united in marriage to Dale Anderlik.
Dale and Irene farmed until 1963.
They moved to Riceville where Irene worked as a dietician at Riceville Family Care Center.
Irene enjoyed cooking for the residents and her family. Some of her most requested dishes were kolaches, bohemian dumplings, and bohemian pancakes.
She was a member of Wa-Tan-Ye and TOPS.
Irene liked to dance, play cards, especially 500, and go shopping.
Irene loved spending time with her family, and was happy they were close so she could see them often. Irene also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale on March 17, 2016, brothers Leland (Eleanor) Richardson, Willy Richardson, sister Delores (Frank) Stivers, and nephew Lonnie Richardson
