She married abt 1930 near Gilmer, Texas to
Jesse Cleveland Chastain 1910 – 1935. They had two sons Donald Carl Chastain 1931 – 1993, and Joe Dan Chastain 1933 – 1999. Jessie had been helping with sick neighbors and got sick and died Sept. 27, 1935 in Henderson Co, Texas. Bessie was left a widow with two small sons.
She married in 1938 to Aaron Levi Wilbanks 1915 – 1993. They had one son James Douglas Wilbanks in 1938. Aaron and Bessie divorced.
Bessie married in 1956 in Memphis, Shelby Co, Tennessee to Bertus T. "Bert" Adkins 1916 – 1985. They lived in Tennessee and Florida until his death.
Bessie was a widow again when she remarried Aaron Wilbanks July 25, 1988 in Athens, Henderson, Texas. They lived in the Bradford area until his death.
Bessie moved to California and lived with her son Douglas for several years and then they moved to Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee where she died July 14, 2000 with her family nearby.
