Donald "Don" Berntsen was born in King Cove to Nick and Nellie Berntsen. He had lived in False Pass before moving to Anchorage. Donald was a longtime commercial fisherman and retired from work with the city of False Pass. He was a member of the Russian Orthodox church.
A funeral was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Michael Oleksa officiating. An additional service will take place in False Pass with burial in False Pass Cemetery.
