Younger sister of the poet John Keats. Forty-two of Keats' surviving letters were written to Fanny Keats. After the death of their grandmother, Alice Jennings, Fanny was under the care of a tea merchant named Richard Abbey. She was rarely permitted to see her brothers. Thomas Keats (18 Nov 1799 - 01 Dec 1818) died from Tuberculosis and George Keats left for America soon afterwards. John also became ill with the disease. When he left for Rome under the advice of his physician, he requested that his fiancé Fanny Brawne continue to correspond with his young sister. These letters are published as "The Letters Of Fanny Brawne To Fanny Keats 1820-1824." Fanny Keats married Valentin Llanos 28 Mar 1826. Fanny Brawne lived with them in Wentworth Place (where John Keats had lived with Charles Brown) for several years before they moved to Spain. A biography about Fanny Keats was published by Marie Adami in 1938.
