David Michael Anderson was born at Emory University Hospital on September 20, 1951 and passed peacefully into God's arms on January 7, 2022 at Emory University Hospital in Decatur. David was the beloved son of Joseph and Vivian Anderson of Decatur and Mableton. David is survived by his sister, Sandy Anderson Stewman (Paul) of Charlotte, NC; his aunt, Gloria Anderson Varner of Sugar Hill, GA; nephew, Todd Stewman (Amy) of Austin, TX; niece, Shana Stewman Ashworth (John) of Charlotte, NC and 5 great nieces and one little nephew in Austin and Charlotte. David had a great capacity to endear himself to others through his gentle and engaging personality. He was an example for all about how to enjoy the simple things of life. The family is indebted to the Douglas County Retardation Association which provided David with a caring and supportive home and learning environment for 30 plus years. The family is particularly appreciative for the professional and loving care that the team at IJN Adult Personal Care Home provided David at a crucial time in his life over the past months. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday January 11, 2022, at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Mableton, GA 30126.
