CARTHAGE, Mo.- Veva G. Emerick, 91, 431 W. Chestnut St., died at 10:05 p.m. Friday, August 28, 1998, at McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Missouri after several months of ill health.
Mrs. Emerick was born on January 12, 1907 in Carthage, Missouri to the late James W. and Alta (Lackey) Loyd. She formerly had lived in Lawrence, Kansas and returned to Carthage in 1968. She had worked as a nurse's aide for 27 years at McCune-Brooks Hospital.
She married Lee K. Emerick on May 19, 1924, in Carthage, He passed away on Oct. 25, 1983. Surviving is one son, Willard Emerick, Gold Beach, Ore.; and a daughter, Betty Green, Mesa, Ariz,; five grand children; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by one son, Robert M. Emerick, on August 20, 1997.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Park Cemetery, in Carthage, Missouri. The Rev. Joe Rychcik will officiate. Arrangements are under the directions of Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
