Italian actress and singer. Born Luisa Malcotti, she made her debut as a child in the radio-drama 'Erni e la strada' by Giovanni Gigliozzi (1942) and she then embarked on a very long radio career that would see her starring in the most popular radio broadcasts for years. Endowed with a very flexible and brilliant voice (she also worked for years as a television dubbing actress), she participated in some radio theater plays, such as 'Luciella Catena' by Ferdinando Russo (1952), 'Assunta Spina' by Salvatore Di Giacomo (1953), 'Pasqua in famiglia' by Ernesto Murolo (1954) and 'Il romanzo di Lina Cavalieri' by Alberto Casella (1956). Her great passion, however, was the light radio show, where she highlighted the skills of a brilliant character actress, from 'Campo de' Fiori'directed by Gigliozzi (1950) to 'Le occasioni dell'umorismo '(1955), from' Talegalli show '(1958-59) to 'Gente d'avanspettacolo'(1960). Regular guest of many of the most famous varieties of Italian radio such as' Gran Gala and 'Gran varietà', in 1962, together with Rita Savagnone, Steni and Elio Pandolfi, she conducted the variety 'Venti e trenta Express', while in the second half of in the sixties she took part in 'Scanzonatissimo'. Among the radio commitments of the seventies, participation in the entertainment program 'E via discorrendo' (1974) and 'Piccola storia dell'avanspettacolo' (1976). In 1979 she returned to microphones as a presenter presenting 'Il cronotrotter di Verde' with Franco Latini, and intervening in the same year at the variety 'Europa con'. In 1980 she participated in the musical comedy 'Accendiamo la lampada' directed by Pietro Garinei and Iaia Fiastri, in the role of Zobeida, taking the place of Bice Valori. She was also able to demonstrate her talent in prose theater when, in the 1980-81 season, she took part in the transposition of the drama 'The good soul' by Sezuan by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Giorgio Strehler. In the eighties and nineties she was mainly active in television dubbing, both of situation comedy (she was the voice of Isabel Sanford in the famous series I Jefferson) and of cartoons (she dubbed characters such as Wilma Flintstone, Picchiarello, Miss Piggy in the Muppet Show, and Dixie in Pixie and Dixie). However, she did not abandon her passion for the radio, and in 1992 she participated in the radio show 'Al viaggiatore non far sapere..'. She died while she was dubbing hit TV series, such as 'The Nanny' (in which she was the voice of Aunt Assunta, played by Renée Taylor) and 'Roseanne' (in which she voiced Estelle Parsons, in the role of Aunt Palmira).
