He was born March 4 1933, in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Harrison and Anna (Martin) Malone.
Gene attended school in Joplin and received his bachelor's degree in business administration in California. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving 18 months in Germany, during the Korean Conflict. He was a minister and a purchasing agent for Tyson Foods.
On December 19, 1955, he married Wanda Golding, in Miller, Missouri.
Gene is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wanda; one daughter, Deana Ormsby and her husband, Gene, of Liberty, Missouri; one son, Rick Malone and his wife, Karen, of Green Ridge, Missouri; four grandchildren, Erica Webb and her husband, Ryan, of Cole Camp, Missouri, Samantha Skidmore and her husband, Luke, of Green Ridge, Missouri, Jacob Ormsby and his wife, Amanda, and Breanna Myers and her husband, Justin, all of Liberty, Missouri and seven great-grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison, and Anna; one son, Tony Malone; four sisters, Ilene, Colleen, Betty, and Hazel and three brothers, Dode, Carl and Tuffy.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2022, at the Round Grove Cemetery, west of Miller, Missouri.'
