Passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born in Kalamazoo, daughter of the late William and Clarice (Magee) Emrick, and has remained a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She is survived by her husband, Roy Waugh; daughter, Wendy (Robert Chabot) Waugh of Leonardo, NJ; granddaughter, Nichole Chabot-Waugh; one sister, Mary Verhage of Schoolcraft; three brothers, William (Marie) Emrick of Oxford, Arthur (Ida) Emrick of Vicksburg, and Charles (Catherine) Emrick of Schoolcraft; seven nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Waugh is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Ralph Emrick. Respecting Catherine's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. Memorial services for Mrs. Waugh will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre St. with Rev. Paula VanderHoven, of the First Presbyterian Church of Schoolcraft, officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sjogrens Foundation or the Lupus Foundation of Michigan.
