Caroline Anderson, daughter of Albert and Mary Louisa Davison Craig Anderson, was born July 15, 1848 in Warren County, Kentucky. Her mother died in childbirth shortly after Carrie's 10th birthday. By 1860, Carrie was the oldest of three children living at home (though she had two older siblings) with their father. She married George Willis in Caverna, Kentucky, in March of 1870, but they continued to live with her father for a short while. Eventually, she and George moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where George worked as a merchant. They had at least four children during their marriage. Carrie died on June 28, 1911, and she is buried in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery, beside her husband, George. Her father's grave has not yet been located.
