Edwin Joy Is Summoned By Illness Here
Resident of Dillon for 17 Years Dies at Barrett Hospital Monday
Edwin E. Joy, resident of Dillon for 17 years, died Monday night at the Barrett hospital, where he had been a patient for several weeks, following a major operation.
He was born in Osela (sic), Neb., Oct. 19, 1883, and spent his youth in that state.
He came to Dillon in 1920 and had resided here ever since. He was employed as a cook and also worked as a butcher in several local meat markets.
He was affiliated with Dillon camp, Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving him are his wife, his mother, Mrs. B. F. Joy; a sister, Mrs. Andrew Dornburger, and three brothers, Lester, Chester and Ire Joy, all of Marshalltown, Iowa.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Brundage funeral home chapel. The Rev. Father F. X. Lechner of St. Rose Catholic church will officiate. Interment will be made in Mountain View cemetery.
