MILDRED "MILLIE" KEITH
Millie Keith, was born May 6, 1923, in Duenweg, Missouri to the late George and Elsie (Hitt) Ball. She entered into rest on January 23, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of 98. Millie was raised in Duenweg with her three siblings and attended school and church there.
On September 24, 1943, Millie married Kenneth Blackwell in Missouri, and together they had two children, Johnny and Karen "Kay" Blackwell. Kenneth, Millie and Kay moved to Alaska in the early 1950's. While residing in Anchorage, Alaska, Millie worked at the Singer Sewing Machine factory and raised their daughter Kay. In 1969 Millie and Ken returned to Missouri and bought a farm in Anderson. Later in 1974 they moved to Goodman, Missouri and this forever became home to Millie. Kenneth preceded her in death on July 18, 1993.
Millie was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Goodman assisting with the needs of the church as she could. She also loved playing Skip-Bo with friends and family and was deemed the "Skip-Bo Queen." One of her favorite pastimes became dancing and enjoyed attending the senior citizens dances in the community.
Following Kenneth's passing Millie met and married Quanah Parker on February 20, 1996, and he passed shortly thereafter on September 29, 1996. On June 5, 1999, she married Cecil "Mike" Keith and he passed away on March 23, 2003. At the encouragement of her daughter, Millie returned to Alaska in 2014. Kay unfortunately passed away on November 19, 2021.
In addition to her husbands, and daughter Kay Skeen, her infant son, Johnny, and siblings and their spouses, Roy (Vallie) Ball, Ralph (Vivian) Ball, and Marie (Willard) Lea also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son-in-law Gary Skeen of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Debbie (Kelly) McGonigal, Teresa (Rob) Robbins all of Kingman, Arizona, Barbara (Ron) McCormick and Billy Myers of Anchorage, Alaska; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Dallas Myers, Ronnie McCormick, Jamie (Brant) Oliphant, Katie (Richard) Langford, Jesse Kristovich, Trinty and Troy Langford; and great-great-granddaughter, Brooke Langford; and several nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Millie was a special lady, and she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 5, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Goodman. A private family burial will be held at Sterling Cemetery.
Inurnment was on Friday, May 6, 2022∼Wife of Kenneth Blackwell. After he passed away she married Mike Keith. He passed away after a few years. When she passed away it was noted she wanted to be buried by Uncle Ken. She was my Aunt and we were very close.
