Died -- In Arundel, Captain George Fletcher, an excellent shipmaster and honest worthy man after a long and truly dreadful sickness in which he bore more pain than human nature is usually afflicted with. No man ever met death with more calmness and genuine magnanimity than he did. The feeling heart must bleed at this great bereavement! An affectionate wife and nine children the eldest but fifteen are left to mourn the loss of a tender husband and kind father and industrious careful provider. While numerous relatives and friends mingle their tears at the recollection of a dutiful son, a loving brother and steady faithful and obliging friend. He died in comforting hope of a blessed immortality, perfectly resigned to the will of God, aged forty-hour years, four months and four days. Weekly Visitor, 23 July 1814
