Anton Schuermann (spelled Schürmann in German) was the fifth child born to Bernhard Schürmann and Katharina Mertens Schürmann in Waltrop, NRW, Germany on March 26, 1936. He married Marianna Böker on Dec. 12, 1953 in Hamm at the Town Hall (Standesamtlich) and in the Catholic Church on July 30, 1955. The family moved to Hamm and bought a big house with a wonderful garden where they raised their four children. Anton had nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He passed away on April 22, 1988 in Hamm. He loved to make things of metal and wood and could fix just about anything. He was a great Dad and Grandfather and father-in-law and is sorely missed. We are thankful for the years we had with him.
