Alvin Banks, 90, of Herod, IL., passed away on Thursday April 16, 2015 at the Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, IL. He was born on March 13, 1925 in Hardin County to Datis Banks and Mary (Joiner) Banks.
He is survived by Daughter: Pattie and Ronnie Barnard; Son: Gary and Monica Banks; Daughter: Linda and Dale Joiner; Son: Steven Banks; Daughter: Carolyn Derringer; Grandson: Chris and P.J. Banks; Grandson: Jason and Allisha Banks; Granddaughter: Heather Banks; Granddaughter: Jennifer and Jeff Bailey; Granddaughter: Angella Roberts; Grandson: Justin Philips; 14 Great Grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Wife: Ida Ruth (Burton) Banks; Parents: Datis and Mary Banks: Granddaughters: Melissa Barnard and Rhonda Barnard; Great Granddaughter: Hailee Phillips. Sisters: Alfie, Maudie, Verbie, Lori, and Rosemary; Brothers: Alfred, Orville, John Robert, and Ora.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Cox Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday April 19, 2015 from Noon till 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday April 19, 2015 at Cox Funeral Home. Rev. Stan Pennell will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Lavender Cemetery.
