Willis worked for almost 40 years at Root Lowell Manufacturing, but his true passion was farming, something he did his entire adult life. Willis also was a great family man who loved spending time with his family, and he will be deeply missed by everyone.
Surviving Willis is his loving wife of 62 years, Jeanette; children, Lori (Terry) Underwood of Belding; Michelle (Tom) Harris of Sheridan; Frank Shores of Sheridan; Wilma Hall of Sheridan; grandchildren, Kendra Ehle; Kyle Shores; Lucas Hall; great grandchildren, Moses Mosqueda; Michael Mosqueda; sister, Dorothy Bergsma of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Hilda (DeVault) Shores; three sisters and their husbands, Maxine & Hugo Conner; Eileen & Howard Kropf; Shirley & Tom Cornell; two brothers and their wives, Don & Mary Shores; Carl & Jeanne Shores; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Maggie & Ernest Michael; daughter-in-law, Loretta Shores; son-in-law, Rodney McDonald; and brother-in-law, Oscar Bergsma.
A celebration of life honoring Willis is being planned for a later date in the spring.
