James Franklin Carlton, age 86, of Murray, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas. He was born January 7, 1921, in Murray, the son of Mills and Viola (Neal) Carlton. Mr. Carlton was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Alden Carlton and Doy Carlton. James was a logger and enjoyed it for many years.
James Franklin Carlton is survived by his brothers, John Carlton of Opolis, Kansas, George Carlton of Springdale, Arkansas, Ishmel Carlton of Deer, Arkansas, and Ford Carlton of Murray; his sister, Lucille Vaughn, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends throughout the community.

Funeral services were Friday, December 7, 2007, at the Mossville Baptist Church, with Bro. Billy Paul Matlock officiating.

Pallbearers were Richard Carlton, Charlie Carlton, Jim Carlton, Billy Carlton, Larry Vaughn, and Anthony McCutcheon.

Honorary Pallbearers were Dwight Carlton, Darvin Vaughn, David Carlton, and Bob Carlton.
