George Washington Carlton age 92 of Springdale, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Springdale. He was born January 31, 1919 in Murray, Arkansas the son of Mills and Viola Neal Carlton. He retired from Tyson Foods.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Survivors are his nephew, Richard Carlton and wife Ginger of the home, one sister, Lucille Vaughn of Prairie Grove, three brothers, John Carlton and wife Louise of Opolis, Kansas, Ishmel Carlton and wife Johnnie of Deer, Arkansas, and Ford Carlton and wife Onzalee of Murray, Arkansas, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation is from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2011 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Mossville Church with Rev. Jerry Sadler officiating. Burial will be in the Mossville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Carlton, Chris Carlton, Charlie Carlton, Jim Carlton, Gary Gehrke, Joey Mounce, and Braylin Carlton. Honorary pallbearers will be John Reynolds, Junior Proctor, Earl Proctor, John Blanch and Wymon Simmons.

Special thanks to Terry Mounce, Loretta and Lexie Carlton, Glenda Pass, John and Jan Reynolds for all the love, care and support you gave George in his last days. To Faye Goodwin, John Blanch and all the wonderful staff at Circle of Life Hospice, thank you for taking such good care of "Red" as well as being a friend to him.
