Ada married Reuben Mander (1910-1982) at Newcastle Baptist Church in April of 1933, when she was 21, and they moved to live with her family in the Slaney Street house, where they would go on to raise their daughter, Ethel Winifred (1937-1989).
Ada lived her whole life on that same street, with many of her siblings and cousins as neighbours, until she was obliged to move to Bradwell Hall Nursing Home in her later years, having by then outlived both husband and daughter by a considerable margin. She died there in July 2001 and was interred with her late husband at Newcastle Cemetery.
