"Charles N. "Toddy" Alexander, 64, a supervisor at Anderson Pretzel Baker, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday in York Hospital following a long illness. A Holtwood R2 resident, he last worked in December 1984. He was a trustee of Clearfield United Methodist Church, where he also taught Sunday school before becoming ill. He was vice president of the Southern Church Softball League. The husband of J. Kathleen Hoover Alexander for 39 years, he served in Europe with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was born in Martic Township, a son of Charles E. Alexander, Pequea R1, and the late Blanche V. Shultz Alexander. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah A., wife of Steven E. Kocher, and Cynthia K., wife of Carl D. Caskey, Neversink, NY; three grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn, wife of George Baer, Pequea R1, and Anna, wife of Ralph Kreider, New Providence R1; four brothers, Lloyd H. Alexander, Manheim R1; William Alexander, Detroit; Robert Alexander, Bird-in-Hand R1, and David Alexander, Lancaster R6."
