13 January 1892, page 8:
Mrs. C. W. Power, the mother of Commodore T. C. Power, died last evening at 8:30 at the residence of her son on Harrison avenue. She had been sick about a week, suffering from bronchitis, following an attack of la grippe. Mrs. Power was born at Gettysburg, Pa., in 1815, and was consequently in her seventy-seventh year. The greater part of her life was spent in Dubuque, Iowa, coming to Montana three years ago and making her home with her son, John W. Power, at Fort Benton. She was the mother of eight children, those surviving being T. C., John W., T. L. Martin and Miss S. E. Power. All her children and grandchildren were at her bedside when she passed away. The remains will be taken to Dubuque for burial this evening. During her residence in Montana Mrs. Power had endeared herself to all who met her by her kindness of heart, and the family will have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.

14 January 1892, page 8:
The remains of Mrs. C. W. Power were taken to Dubuque, Iowa, last evening, for burial. They were accompanied by Commodore Power and Mrs. Power, Charles Power, John W. Power, Miss Sarah Power, and Miss May Flanagan, of Fort Benton. Mrs. Power was one of the first settlers in Iowa, T. C. Power having been born in a cabin which stood in the wilderness a few miles above Dubuque.

Thomas C. Power's biographical sketch appears in the volume, 'Progressive Men of Montana,' pub. 1901, in which his mother is identified as Catherine McLeer, born in Hagerstown, Maryland, and that she died at the age of 75.

Gravesite Details

It is presumed that Mrs. Power is buried in this cemetery, since her remains were brought to Dubuque and this is where her husband is buried. Further information is welcome.
