Sarah WHITESIDES was born 18 Apr 1793 Amherst County, VA, the daughter of James WHITESIDES (circa 1759-circa 17950) and Ann "Nancy" KINNEY (1766-1845).
Sarah (age 19) and Joseph TROUT (age 25) were married on Christmas Eve, 24 Dec 1812 in Augusta County, VA. He was the son of Philip TROUT (1759-1812) and Maria Magdalena LAMBERT (1758-1826). Husband Joseph was a saddler by trade and served briefly in the War of 1812.
After husband Joseph died 26 Mar 1850, Sarah went to live for a few years with her son, Nicholas Kinney TROUT, Sr., an attorney at law and prominent public figure in Staunton, Augusta, VA. By 1870, Sarah was living near Mt. Sidney, Augusta, VA, with her daughter Elizabeth Rebecca and husband Peachy Harrison WHEELER.
It is possible, (not confirmed) that Sarah was still living with her daughter Elizabeth Rebecca and family when she died 15 Aug 1873, age 80 years, 3 months, and 28 days.
