Harlin Smith, age 93.
Above all other things he was an awesome Dad, Husband, Son and Grandfather.
A very loving and forgiving man.
He was a Photographer for The Sacramento Bee Newspaper for almost all of his working life, he had many titles from that career.
He held Lifetime passes for the William Land Park, now the Sacramento Zoo, taking many photos for them over his photography career.
He was very active in his community. Harlin, Melissa, his wife, and 4 other couples started the Sunset Whitney Volunteer Fire Department in their then small new community. He served many years in the capacity of Firefighter and then several years as the Fire Chief.
When the City of Rocklin finally annexed their community he continued on with them as a Volunteer Firefighter. When he retired officially from the Fire Department he became their photo journalist to the media and community.
He served numerous terms of office with the Placer County Mosquito Abatement Board,
several terms on the County Grand Jury and was a Voter Polling Station Coordinator near his home.

Thank you Harlin, for all of your time, support and love to your community.

His heart was always open for any way to help all.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, 1 child and 1 grandchild.

May You Rest in Peace Dad, you are going to be very missed by us all.

This Bio will be updated after all the legal stuff is done with his estate.
