Gilbert ~ Gracie's boyfriend

Gracie has been around our neighborhood since around 2016 (?). She was Gilbert's long time girl friend and very feral. Nobody in all those years could not get near her even though Gilbert was right there whom she adored. Gracie had many litters of kittens that included every male cat around here plus Gilbert. Around the last week of June 2017, TNR (Trap, Nurtured, Release) Society came and gather up around 600 stray & feral cats to have them neutered or spayed, put down if too sick, given meds when needed, adopted out if possible, chipped and then released back on the street they were taken. Gracie and Gilbert were among this group.

Gilbert became very passive and calm after that. Since then the two cats shared Gilbert's outside carrier until his disappearance in October 2021. Gracie then went across the street in the back alley where all the other feral cats roam.

Sunday, March 13, 2022, Gracie went missing. She got hit by a car on Torresdale Avenue which is a large and busy street. Never knew her to go near it because of the traffic. She stayed near the smaller street next to our houses until March 13th. Why she was there is anyone's guess. On March 23, 2022, my neighbor across the street was driving into her driveway on the Torresdale side and saw what she thought was Gracie dead near the curb. I was called down to see and it was her. She died just over 19 weeks (136 days) after Gilbert and the two of them are finally together for eternity.

Thank you Gracie and Gilbert for the wonderful years of pleasure you have given me and the whole neighborhood. I will not forget either of you. (Gracie's birth year is only a very wild guess on my part)

A heartfelt 'Thank You' to Rosie/Moochie for sponsoring Gracie memorial.
