TO A RIPE OLD AGE
Mrs. Lucy Hedden Lives to Enjoy a Ripe Old Age-Died at 82 Years
Mrs. Lucy Hedden, mother of Mrs. Peter F. Haas, died at the residence of her daughter at the corner of Fifteenth street and Prairie avenue Tuesday afternoon at the ripe old age of 82 years. Mrs. Hedden was born in New York state in 1822 and was married to Allan Hedden in 1840. Mr. Hedden died at Parkersburg, la., in 1878, since which time she has made her home with her children of whom she has four sons and four daughters, all living and married. She came to Sioux Falls in 1896 and has since made her home with Mrs. Haas.
She has enjoyed good health for one of her age up to a short time before the final summons. She showed the first symptoms of the final dissolution last Thursday, since which time she rapidly sank until the end came, came.
The funeral services will be held from the Haas family residence on Thursday afternoon at 8:30, and the interment will be made in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
