Charles Dickson served in the Royal Army Military Corps, during World War 1, and was present at The Battle of The Somme, 1916.

Charles Dickson, son of John Mitchel Dickson and Mary Dickson, formerly Gamble, was born on 20 January 1886 ay Gallows Street, Dromore, Banbridge, Co. Down.
His father was a Linen Manufacturer.
His father died 2 Jan. 1928, aged 88, at Winton Road, Rathgar,
His mother died 4 March 1935, aged 90, at Anglesea Road, Ballsbridge

In the 1901 census, the family were living at University Road, (Windsor Ward), Belfast.

In the 1911 census, the family were living at Wellington Park, (Windsor Ward), Belfast.

Marriage.
Charles Dickson, a bachelor, a Medical Doctor, from Dublin, son of John Mitchell Dickson, a Linen Merchant, married Gladys Mary Erskine, a spinster, from Whiteabbey, daughter of Pakenham Erskine, a Linen Merchant, on 14 January 1914, at Whiteabbey Presbyterian Church, Carnmoney, Co. Antrim.

When his daughter Barbara was born in 1915, he was living at Orwell Park, Rathgar.
