SCIPIO - Linford Wray, 93, Scipio, formerly of R.2, Norman, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born in Monroe County, he was the son of Moses and Amanda (Martin) Wray. He married Effie Teague in 1929 and she preceded him in death.
He was a retired farmer and quarry worker. He was a member of Hickory Grove Church and trustee for Hickory Grove Church and Cemetery.
Surviving are one son, Donald Wray of Scipio; Two daughters: Linda Lewis of Scipio and Louise Underwood of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister Shirley Crider of Bloomington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Verna Lawson and Sylvia Hillenburg; three brothers: Lenza, Luther, and Lynul Wray; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heltonville Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Stevens, Lloyd White, and Dewey Axsom officiating.
