Woodson Chapel Cemetery is located in the area now known as the LBL (Land Between the Lakes a national recreation area). It is an area of land comprised of 170,000 acres located in parts of Lyon and Trigg Counties of Western Kentucky and Stewart Co, Tennessee lying between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. In Edwin & Annie McCoy's time this land called "Between the Rivers" (the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers) to those living there and was once home to more than 800 families before they were forcibly removed by the power of eminent domain and cleared by TVA.

Anna "Annie" Brennan McCoy was my great grandaunt & sister to my great grandfather, Thomas Brennan Jr. Her parents were Thomas Brennan and Margaret Tynning who were born in Galway Co, Ireland and came to the USA in the mid 1860's. Annie was born in Carrolton, KY 15 Sep 1868. She married Edwin John McCoy 19 May 1891 in Lyon Co, KY & they had four children. Edwin was the son of James F. McCoy of New York City and Margaret Hust of Mississippi. Edwin was born 26 Aug 1860 in New York, NY. His Death Cert. lists his name as Edward J. McCoy. Informant was T. A. McCoy, his son, and the of death was 02 Jan 1944 of myocardial infarction. Annie died 07 Nov 1943 of hemorrhagic following a cerebral hemorrhage...both died in Lyon Co, KY.
They were members of Woodson Chapel Methodist Church.
