Dean R. Ab-Hugh, LTJG USN, 84, of North Ridgeville, died April 18, 2022 in his home surrounded by family. He was born November 21, 1937 in Lodi and was a 1955 graduate of Wellington High School.

Dean received a BS in medical technology from Bowling Green State University and a graduate degree from The University of North Carolina, Wilmington, NC.

He served 20 years in the US Navy, 10 of those years he spent in the special warfare division, Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Dean was also a Navy qualified deep sea diver and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

In his lifetime, he donated over 100 pints of blood and served as an honor guard for over 600 military funerals.

Dean is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia A. (nee Volpe); his daughters, Cheryl of West Virginia, Denise of Indiana and Charlene of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and step children, Brian, Paul and Gregory and families, all of North Carolina.

Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. Military honors will be presented by North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871.
