Virginia Elaine Huckabee, 92, of Bedford, passed away on April 23, 2022. Elaine was born on April 30, 1929 to Joe B. and Willie Mae Anderson in Arlington. After graduating from Poly High School, she met Harvey in 1945. They wed September 15, 1950, going on to have two children, Scott and Bruce.

When Elaine had Scott, she decided to dedicate her life to becoming a fantastic and wonderful mother. Elaine focused on Harvey, Scott, and Bruce; supporting them through the many passions and goals of their lives. Whether that was working alongside Harvey at Harvey's Auto Supply, cooking the famous homemade fudge recipe for Christmas, or spending her time as a certified Stephens Minister of the United Methodist Church, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Elaine spent her days doing activities she loved most; reading a good book, knitting a new scarf, painting, enjoying her favorite Chicken Salad Chick sandwich with family, lounging with both of her dogs, Annie and Sammie; volunteering her time for Meals on Wheels. We will miss her greatly.

Elaine was predeceased by husband, Harvey; son, Scott; sisters, Rosemary Cox, Ruth Readdy, Marge McDonald; and brother, Andy Anderson.

She is survived by son, Bruce Huckabee and wife, Alexandra; niece, Carol Copper; nephews, Larry Cox and wife Pat; Steve Cox and wife Sue; Danny Cox and wife Elizabeth; Mike Gentry and wife Sherry; beloved dog, Sammie; and other dear family and friends.
