Ann was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and a former public school teacher in Georgia and South Carolina. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and gardening. She was a long time member of Pickens First Baptist Church where she served as a teacher, choir member, and a leader of the homebound and prayer ministries. Ann had a servant's heart and was beloved by her family, church and community.
Predeceased by her loving husband, James Whitworth; she is survived by her two sons, Jeff Whitworth and his wife, Nancy, of Greenville, SC, and Victor Whitworth and his wife, Sharon, of Pickens; three grandchildren, Erin Chilton and her husband, Jon, of Greenville, Gil Whitworth and his wife, Colby, of Chapin, SC, and Luke Whitworth and his wife, Kelsey of Wake Forest, NC; seven great grandchildren, Reynolds, Mary Willis, Josiah and Catherine Chilton, Dax Whitworth and Judah and Madeline Whitworth; two sisters, Joyce Whitaker of Euless, TX and Ellen Watson of Monticello, GA.; a brother-in-law, Dr. Clyde Whitworth of Carrollton, GA; and four sisters-in-law, Morene Whitworth of Boone, NC, Jane Whitworth of Liberty, SC, Gail Willis of Zebulon, GA, and Mae Willis of Williamson, GA.
