Son of Abraham Deck

In 1957-1958 the D.A.R. did a headstone reading for this cemetery. They noted the following inscription:

Aby, son of
A. & R. Deck
B. Nov, 7 1897
D. Oct. 25, 1900

In 1981-1982 the new owners of Clement's cemetery ordered a census and map of the cemetery. Edward Harnsberger, utilizing the D.A.R. reading, obituaries and headstones he found in the cemetery, created a new map. He also created a written document which records, in burial order, the placement of each headstone in relation to the others and the information written on each headstone. In this written document Mr. Harnsberger notes that "Aby's marker is a concrete disc with lettering of seas shells, time has nearly destroyed this marker and is very difficult to read." The marker he is describing belongs to Frankie Deck. Frankie Deck is not named in the D.A.R. recordings nor is he named in Mr. Harnsberger's document. I believe Aby's marker was on the empty base in 1957-1958 and had disappeared by the 1981 survey of the cemetery. Mr. Harnsberger, utilizing the D.A.R. record misread the concrete disc due to it's age/condition. See Frankie Deck, this cemetery.

An inscription on the east side of the empty base is for a child.
