Was a member of Fort Screven Automatic Replacement Draft Co #1 Coastal Artillery Corps aboard the Ortanto which collided with the Kashmir and sank on 6 Oct 1918. His remains were initially buried in grave #8 row 1 at Kilchoman City, Kilchoman, Islay Argylls, Scotland but were shipped to his mother in Milltown, GA in Sept. of 1920. His final resting place there is currently unknown.
