Max E. Axleroad, 84, died yesterday at the Jewish Home for the Aged. Born in Russia, Mr. Axleroad had been an Albany resident more than 60 years. He conducted a dry goods business until his retirement 15 years ago. He is survived by his wife, the former Bella Richless; two sons, Maj. Benjamin Axleroad, a former Albany lawyer now judge advocate at Camp Forrest, Tenn, and Coleman Axleroad, Poughkeepsie; and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Peters and Mrs. Anne Swart, Albany, and Mrs. Edward Friedman, New York City. Burial was in the Congregation cemetery on Fuller Road.
