Obituary of Betty Tracy
Betty Loveland Tracy, 85, of Essex St. Deep River, passed away Monday October 9, 2013 at Apple Rehab. in Old Saybrook. Beloved wife of the late Richard G. Tracy. She was born in New London on February 20, 1928 to the late William C. and Marjorie Helen (Flett) Loveland. Betty moved to the shoreline area from Newington in the 1960's. Betty was a waitress at Joe's Restaurant and Blue Stone Restaurant in Old Saybrook. She was a member of Club 60 and the Garden Club; site manager of the Estuary Council, all in Deep River. Betty was also President of the American Legion Auxiliary a member of the Eastern Star of Newington and a faithful member of the Deep River Congregational Church. She was well known on the shoreline, we have lost a good friend.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Tracy Watson of Chester, and Beverly Jean Thompson Chapman of Westbrook; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her two sons, Richard Newell and William Charles Tracy; two brothers Harry Charles and Leslie Vincent Loveland and her twin sister Ethel Loveland Budney.
Memorial services will be held on Monday October 14, at 11am. at the Deep River Congregational Church in Deep River, with Rev. Tim Haut officiating. Interment will be private in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Westbrook Estuary Council, 61 Goodspeed Dr. Westbrook Ct 06498. The Swan Funeral Home. 1224 Boston Post Rd. is in Charge of arrangements.
