James "Goob" Nelson Livengood, 64, of Oakland, MD, passed away May 4, 2022 at his home.

Born in Oakland on June 20, 1957 James was the son to the late Ward and Josephine Livengood. He was also preceded in death by infant daughter Sarah Marie, brother David Livengood, and sister Cathy Jessup.

James graduated from Southern High School where he was a member of the Southern Rams Football Team. He worked at Oakview Motors as well as various construction jobs. He enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his spouse, Annette; daughter,r Jessica Lucas of Oakland, son, Shane Livengood and partner, Hannah Burrell of Aurora, WV; five grandchildren, Bensen Lucas, Ethan Lucas, Madilyn Livengood, Darren Livengood, and Violet Livengood; siblings, Ed Livengood and Mary Ginter.

At James' request, he will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Garrett County Memorial Gardens Chapel on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a covered dish meal at the Long Branch Saloon. The family encourages everyone to come share their favorite memories of Goob.
