Professional Baseball Player. She was a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). During her professional career she was a member of the Chicago Colleens (1949), the Springfield Sallies (1950) and the Rockford Peaches (1951). She started her career at the age of 16, when the league required her to have permission from her parents and the school district to leave school in March for spring training. She played as infielder, outfielder and pitcher. She collected a .229 batting average and a .325 on-base percentage in 37 games. After leaving baseball she went to work for Pacific Bell Telephone for 30 years and retired in 1983. In the 1992 film "A League of Their Own" she made her film debut as Alice "Skeeter" Gaspers. She passed away at her home at the age of 89.
