(1989) She started her acting career in 1969 and continued as a child actor into the 1970s. Her first breakthrough role came in 1987 in the film "The Surrogate Womb" for which she earned the best acting role award at the 44th Venice Film Festival that year. Two years later, she earned the best actress award at the Moscow International Film Festival for her role in "Come, Come, Come Upward." She became known as Korea's "first world star." She would continue acting in numerous films and television series until her passing in May of 2022.
