Mary's son, Fred Howe, told me that Ann and their children, Mighele "Mike" (1896-1935), Tony (1898-1965), Virginia Marchello Zanot (Nov 17, 1900 - Jan 13, 1974) and John P. "Johnny" (1908-1953) are also buried in this cemetery. I confirmed this truth with a visit to the cemetery March 1, 2013, even though the woman in charge of cemetery records assured me on Feb 27, 2013, that nobody with the name "Marchello" was buried in this cemetery.
Mary Marchello Howe was also a "Page Pioneer" helping to birth "America's Last Frontier" -- Page, Arizona.
Both her daughters, JoAnna Flournoy and Edith Howe are deceased. She is survived by her son, Fred Howe (born between her daughters in 1939), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On page 63 of the 1964 Sage & Sand yearbook for Page High School, the inaccurate statement, "FHA was established at PHS by Mrs. Mavis Wilson in 1958-1959." Mavis Wilson was teaching in Nucla, CO, where her husband, Glenn F. Wilson, was Principal that year, and they didn't arrive at PHS until the 1959-1960 school year. Mavis was FHA Advisor in 1960 & Sponsor in 1961....BUT....
FHA was established at Page High School by Mrs. Henry H. (Mary) Howe by at least the 1958-59 school year, if not the 1957-58 school year (photo of 1958-59 FHA group at PHS, attached).
