Borger News Herald April 6, 1981 -

Fred Harrison, 61, of 1020 Wilhelm in Stinnett, Texas, died at 8:23 am today in North Plains Hospital.

Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday in Hobart, Oklahoma.
The body will lie in state at Alexander Funeral Directors in Stinnett until noon Tuesday. Local arrangements are by Alexander Funeral Directors in Stinnett.

Mr. Harrison and his wife operated the Stinnett Cleaners. He retired about six years ago. A native of Cold Springs, Oklahoma, he moved to Stinnett 14 years ago.

Mr. Harrison was a member of the Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He served as a crew member aboard the submarine U.S.S. Red Fish.

He is survived by his wife Ellen; a son, Steve of Cheyenne; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Collmer of Hobart, Mrs. Linda Thornley of Alvin, and Miss Kathy Harrison of Stinnett; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Harrison of Hobart; five brothers, J. C. of Hobart, Vernon of Borger, Roy of Oklahoma City, James of Alaska, and Alvis of Mountain Park; three sisters, Mrs. Opal Cooper of Odessa, Mrs. Ruby Parr of Hobart and Mrs. Betty Barns of Mountain Park; and four grandchildren.

Freddie and Ellen were married on 23 December 1943.
