Baby Francis BANCHIERI, beloved first child of Armando BANCHIERI and Eugenia 'Geni' CARDONA-Banchieri, stillborn in seventh month of pregnancy on September 14, 1959, at St. Mary's Help Hospital in San Francisco, CA. Now, 50+ years later, Francis's loss is still deeply felt. ~Never forgotten.

Medical staff at the time, felt more could be learned, if Baby Francis was bestowed to the hospital for preventative research study, due to his premature death. The family agreed.

60 Years Later …

A young couple never forgets their first pregnancy, the months of anticipation, of planning, picking names, and overall excitement of the blessed new addition. But, sometimes life has its plans, God has his will. And we were tested when 60 years ago today Armando and I lost our stillborn son of 8 months. Today, we both remember the day as yesterday, though decades have come and gone. Through it all, through Faith and the births of our sons later, and growing families that's followed, we feel nothing but blessed for what we have, and for the memories of what carried us to this day. ~With time pain fades, but we're still grateful, thankful, and blessed to keep our first always in our hearts and memory. We likely would have christened him 'Francis', and it's in his name and memory we remember him, and that day -September 14, 1959. ~Su mama,

PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS:
"Prayer of St. Francis"

We attended the annual Noche de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, popular event for people to come together and honor their loved ones. Thousands attend, to pay respects not only to Hollywood stars buried there like Rudolph Valentino, Judy Garland, Burt Reynolds, but others as well. This year I chose to honor my parents at the grave of actor Tyrone Power, who my mother loved. He also happened to die the day my mother and father were married -November 15, 1958. So this year, I made a small offering of thanks to them with her bird seed she always had ready for her garden birds every morning, and her Tootsie Rolls, which she loved. It was my first time honoring them in this way, as their memorial service approaches on November 15. On that day, we will lay them to rest beside my Abuelita y PapaPolo. ~Rest in Peace

Asistimos a la Noche de los Muertos anual en el Hollywood Forever Cemetery, un evento popular para que las personas se reúnan y honren a sus seres queridos. Miles de personas asisten para presentar sus respetos no sólo a las estrellas de Hollywood enterradas allí como Rudolph Valentino, Judy Garland y Burt Reynolds, sino también a otras. Este año elegí honrar a mis padres en la tumba del actor Tyrone Power, a quien mi madre amaba. También murió el día que mi madre y mi padre se casaron, el 15 de noviembre de 1958. Así que este año les hice una pequeña ofrenda de agradecimiento con su alpiste que siempre tenía listo para los pájaros de su jardín todas las mañanas y su Tootsie. Rolls, que le encantaba.
