Everett Levoid Graves was born on August 25, 1908 in Texas, the son of George Henry Graves (1892–1947) and Mary Ann "Polly" (Edwards) Graves (1894–1942).

He was married to Ada Louise -- , who worked at Central State Hospital.

Nursing at Central State Hospital, Everett lived at 1028 17th Avenue South in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. He was 55 years old, married and died of a heart attack at home October 17, 1963.

Survivors included his widow Louise Graves, daughters Barbara Ann Graves and Linda Graves, sons Lavoid Graves, Charles Graves and James Graves, all of Speedville, Kentucky, sisters Mrs Lavada Morrison and Mrs Lillian Earls of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Mrs Beatrice Roberts, Miss Barbara Griggs and Mrs Audrev Shaw all in Detroit, Michigan and brothers Clyde Graves and Kermie Graves at Detroit, Melbourne Graves in Akron, Ohio and Ernest Graves of Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Funeral Services were held on October 19th at the home of Reverend Douglas F Brown, who officiated, and burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
