Estimable Woman of Sharon Community Passes Away After Lingering Illness of Several Years.
Death ended the lingering illness of Mrs. C. Pharr Alexander at her home five miles from the city in Sharon township at 1:30 o'clock yesterday morning. The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o'clock, the pastor of Sharon church, Rev. H.A. Guerney, having charge of the exercises.
Mrs. Alexander was in her 53rd year and was a woman of marked attainments in the Christian life. She held the esteem and respect of her neighbors and was a consistent member of Sharon church during her residence in that community. Have at all times the interests of this church at heart, she became early in life one of its most useful and valuable members, her kindly ministrations relieving the sufferings of many and yielding uniform sacrifices that her friends and those with whome she was closest might be benefitted.
In her home she was kind and gentle and set before her children an example of godliness worthy of emulation. During her entire afflcition that has extended over a number of years she was patient and uncomplaining.
Prior to her marriage the deceased was a Miss Query, living near Harrisburg, and of this family the following named brothers, Messrs. A.C. Query of Raleigh, R.W. Query of Concord, H.W. Query of Pennsylvania, survive as well as one sister, Mrs. Robert Snell of Harrisburg.
In addition to these, the following named children beside her husband mourn her departure: Mrs. L.B. Hood of Winston-Salem, Misses Pearl, Ola, and Messrs. Eugene, Query, Roy and Gilbert. She was the mother of young Mr. Fred Alexander, whose tragic drowning took place in the Catawba river a few years ago, this being one of the sorrows that was ever unforgotten by this good woman.
