He was the son of Goria Hampton and Mary nee Kidd. He and his wife Dorothy were residents of Lexington at the time of his death.
A flat marble military gravestone was provided by the federal government at the request of Henry's wife, whose name was not given. The gravestone request stated that he was buried at the Hampton Homestead Cemetery. That could be the same as this Kidd Cemetery. The gravestone can presumably be seen at the location where he's buried since the PFC inscription provided by Kendal Culbertson appears to have been taken from his gravestone.
