From Yesterday's Daily Issue
The mangled remains of B Gilbert, white, were found on the Eastern track of the C & O, at Brooks, at 5:50 o'clock this morning, by Brakeman Dillon, of extra freight, 744. Mr Gilbert was a watchman, employed on the W A Patton carpenter force, and was on duty when killed. It is supposed he was struck by an East-bound train. He was 33 years of age and is survived by a wife and one child. His home was at Brooks.
The remains will be interred at Johnson graveyard, about two miles from his home, some time tomorrow.
